WordPress Wednesday – 8 Free & Premium Shortcodes Plugins

So what are Shortcodes, Shortcodes were introduced in WordPress 2.5. To put things simply, it is a shortcut. Shortcodes are WordPress specific pieces of code that allow you to save time. Many themes includes shortcodes these days but having them in a wordpress probably not the best way to handle them because if you change themes you will lose those codes.

That’s why it is best to include them within a plugin so if you change themes all of those codes stay within your posts/pages. Today’s WordPress Wednesday post is all about free and paid for shortcodes plugins. To start with I’ve personally used both Style With Shortcodes and Shortcode Kid which are premium/paid plugins which are included on this list.

Free Plugins

J Shortcodes allows you to add custom buttons, content boxes, tabs and accordion panels, build call to action and information boxes. You can choose color, size and shape for any of these elements.
